Job Summary:

As a Radiologic Technologist I at Kaiser, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality radiology and fluoroscopic imaging services to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform radiologic examinations according to departmental protocols, positioning patients, providing immobilization devices as required, and selecting technical factors for optimal imaging.
  • Review orders, correlate patient clinical history with exams, and consult with attending radiologists and registered nurses as needed.
  • Follow National Patient Safety Goals, ensuring patient safety and accuracy of information and data entry.
  • Prepare sterile fields, contrast agents, and floor stock medications, maintaining adequate supplies during procedures.
  • Assist radiologists during fluoroscopic procedures, operate and understand imaging systems, and post-process images as required.
  • Maintain working knowledge of department equipment and devices, reporting malfunctions and accidents as needed.
  • Provide service-oriented communication with patients, explaining procedures and answering questions, while emphasizing a personalized and compassionate patient care atmosphere.
  • Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure to patients and self, recording fluoroscopy time used during procedures.
  • Function as part of the resuscitation team during Code Blue and/or Rapid Response Team situations.
  • Maintain materials, linen supply, and room cleanliness, rotating and sharing on-call responsibilities for General Radiology service areas.
  • Pursue ongoing continuing education and attend departmental meetings and/or in-service presentations as needed.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in radiologic technology from an accredited school or two years of directly related experience.
License, Certification, Registration:

  • Radiographer License (Hawaii) required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification required at hire from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trauma, fluoroscopy, and surgery experience.
Work Environment:

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The selected candidate will be required to travel up to 10% of the time.
