Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Designer 1 to join our team at DOWL. As a key member of our transportation design team, you will be responsible for performing entry-level engineering calculations, design, and drafting for a variety of transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with site visits and conduct field observations to gather data and information for transportation projects.
  • Prepare and edit CAD drawings, geometric roadway layouts, and 3D models for transportation facilities and infrastructure.
  • Write project specifications, technical reports, and construction quantity calculations and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with senior designers and engineers to ensure high-quality design and delivery of transportation projects.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in transportation design.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of technical fundamentals and ability to learn new design concepts quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and market sector software such as AutoCAD C3D and Microstation Connect and OpenRoads.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work effectively in a project team setting.
  • Ability to work under close direction and oversight from senior designers and engineers.
