Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per yearAbout the Job

This Mechanical Engineer position plays a critical role in supporting the development, integration, and validation of our KARNO generator. As part of our team, you'll execute design tasks using established engineering principles and adhere to company standards and best practices.

  • Take ownership of hardware components and sub-systems, considering factors like functionality, durability, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate robust designs that meet business requirements.
  • Conduct technical reviews to identify potential issues and propose solutions, managing trade-offs and engineering decisions.
  • Develop, test, and validate prototypes to identify and address design flaws.
  • Support the design checking process by reviewing prints and ensuring they align with company guidelines.
  • Assist in selecting suppliers to support prototype and production needs.
  • Participate in the purchasing process and assist with procuring hardware from key suppliers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required for the business.
Key Requirements

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering preferred.
  • 1-5 years of engineering experience, with a proven track record of designing and troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Experience in the automotive, aerospace, or medical device industry is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in ASME Y14.5 GD&T Standard.
  • Experience with fluid/thermal systems design and optimization.
  • Expertise in NX 3D CAD tools and associated GD&T.
  • Experience with structural and thermal FEA toolsets such as ANSYS.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, inverters, and batteries.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite.
