Job Description

The Distinguished Mechanical Design Specialist will perform complex analytical work, coordinating with other Engineering professionals, associates, customers, and vendors. Key responsibilities include planning, designing, analyzing, and testing to ensure performance, reliability, and conformance to all applicable requirements, specifications, cost, and schedules.

  • Plan and develop engineering projects, working individually or as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Create and maintain engineering project documentation.
  • Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to final deployment on the manufacturing floor.
  • Investigate and implement the latest engineering technology to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Mentor and lead other engineering professionals to promote role model professional engineering behavior.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, 3-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Solid modeling, FEA, and MIL specifications. Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor, mechanical shock analysis, testing, and project management experience are preferred.

About the Role

This position requires access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. To meet this requirement, you must provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship. Acceptable proof of US Citizenship includes a US Passport, US Birth Certificate, or Naturalization Certificate.
