Key Responsibilities:

  • Environmental Services: Empty wastebaskets and trash containers, clean and sanitize restrooms and bathrooms, and maintain the overall cleanliness of the campus.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Clean, dust, and wipe furniture, sweep, mop, polish, or vacuum floors, and perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Event Support: Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, including buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high-pressure washers, and vacuums.
  • Security and Safety: Lock and unlock assigned buildings, secure building when facilities are not in use, and report any unauthorized occupants.
  • Recycling and Waste Management: Handle recycling materials and perform other tasks related to waste management.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors, and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Two years of experience as a building attendant or custodial worker, with experience using floor machines such as auto-scrubbers, buffers, and burnishes.
  • Skills: Basic knowledge of housekeeping tools and equipment, ability to read, follow, and comprehend directions, and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. The successful candidate will be required to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
