Position Type: Non-Exempt

Salary: $17.90 per hour

Role Summary:

The Certified Medical Coder will be responsible for the accurate posting of clinic charges and ensuring the correct application of ICD-10 and CPT codes. This role is essential for the completeness of billing for electronic and paper insurance claims, aimed at maximizing third-party insurance revenue. The coder will also review provider documentation to ensure compliance with coding standards.

Key Competencies:

  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Experience with various billing models including HMO, PPO, Capitation, and Medicare/Medicaid
  • Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and CDT coding systems
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Familiarity with HCFA 1500, UB92, and ADA claim submissions

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with certification in Medical Coding and/or Dental Coding.
