Job Summary

Mt. Hood Community College is seeking a qualified instructor to teach in our Surgical Technology program. As a clinical instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students in a classroom and laboratory setting. You will also be expected to maintain a safe and effective learning environment, develop and implement curriculum, and evaluate student progress.

Responsibilities
  • Teach students in a classroom and laboratory setting, using a variety of instructional methods and materials.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of students and the program.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback to students.
  • Maintain a safe and effective learning environment, including the use of equipment and materials.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current with industry developments and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Current credential for Certified Surgical Technologist through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
  • At least 5 years of current operating room experience in the scrub role.
  • Experience teaching or mentoring students in a clinical setting.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time, non-tenure track position. The successful candidate will be expected to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends. The position is subject to budget approval and may be cancelled at any time.
