Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Avionics Electrical Technician Lead to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our electrical avionics team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating all electrical avionics activities, providing daily information on aircraft schedules, repairs, parts, and components shipped to vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan, schedule, and complete tasks on work authorizations to meet the master schedule, providing daily status reports and progress schedules to management.
  2. Coordinate electrical and avionics activities to meet aircraft schedules and deadlines, reviewing work, including forms and records, to ensure compliance with Site Inspection Procedures Manual, Site Operating Procedures, and FARs.
  3. Supervise and instruct electrical technicians with technical guidance and proper procedures for troubleshooting electrical avionics systems, routine inspections, and preventive maintenance, providing input to subordinate performance appraisals and submitting them to management for review.
  4. Review daily job charging for all personnel, including support groups, to ensure accuracy of inputs.
  5. Maintain a preventive maintenance program on test equipment, hand tools, and special tools.
  6. Maintain a current knowledge of Aircraft Service Changes (ASC), Customer Bulletins, inspection schedule requirements, vendor information, and all other procedures, publications, and general knowledge pertaining to aircraft maintenance and servicing.
  7. Supervise a continuous safety program in the hangar area, including operation of support equipment, aircraft systems, and general housekeeping.
  8. Maintain required logs and records.
  9. Enforce the company FOD, tool control, 5-S programs, and all safety regulations.
  10. Adapt to sudden schedule changes.
  11. Coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects.
Requirements
  1. Must have thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, troubleshooting, technical manuals systems, and aircraft maintenance records system.
  2. Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems or disciplines other than avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, or structural installations and repairs.
  3. Ability to read and interpret electrical avionics system drawings and blueprints.
  4. Must have demonstrated leadership ability.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  6. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, implement, and obtain objectives with minimal direction.
  7. A good understanding of PC, Windows, and mainframe computer applications, including the use of standard computer word processing programs (i.e., Microsoft Word) and appropriate typing skills.
  8. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small-space restricted areas, and lift up to 100 pounds.
  9. Ability to use hand tools and avionics test equipment.
  10. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
