Job Summary

This role is responsible for enrolling and completing the Paragon training program, a 15-week virtual learning experience that teaches the fundamentals of bathing and grooming, safety, pet first aid and CPR, pet handling skills, dog anatomy and physiology. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to provide exceptional customer service and ensure the safety and well-being of animals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enroll and complete the Paragon training program within the required timeline
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of animal behavior, body language, and handling techniques
  • Provide exceptional customer service, including greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues
  • Assist with pet grooming, including bathing, drying, brushing, and combing
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including sanitizing equipment and disposing of waste
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management, including reporting incidents and concerns
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and move animals and equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with animals, preferably in a grooming or pet care setting
  • Knowledge of animal behavior, body language, and handling techniques
  • Ability to operate grooming equipment, including clippers, dryers, and brushes
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and record-keeping
Working Conditions
  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with moderate noise levels
  • Exposure to sharp objects, chemicals, and animals
  • Ability to work in a variety of temperatures and environments
