Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced High School History Teacher to join our team at Uncommon Schools. As a member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering an engaging curriculum focused on World, US History, American Government, and Economics.

This role involves fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that empowers students to engage in discourse and develop critical thinking skills through historical analysis. You will also collaborate with faculty to set academic goals and engage in professional development while building strong relationships with students and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Instruction: Teach a curriculum that prioritizes analysis of World, US History, American Government, and Economics in preparation for Advanced Placement (AP) and collegiate level coursework.
  • Data Analysis: Meet weekly with your principal and/or instructional coach to analyze and respond to trends in student work samples and assessments.
  • School Culture: Build positive relationships with students to ensure they feel seen, loved, and heard.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is between $56,000 to $77,000, depending on experience. We offer competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits that support the personal health, wellness, and finances of our staff and their families.
