About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Systems Engineer to join our team at the Department of Justice, Office of the Chief Information Officer. As a key member of our Service Engineering and Improvement (SEI) staff, you will be responsible for managing radio frequency spectrum programs and providing customer contact for all service-related inquiries and issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a telecommunications expert to advise internal teams on maintenance, installation, and operation of various communications and electronic systems.
  • Provide guidance on the use of specific frequency bands and submit changes to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) on behalf of DOJ components.
  • Ensure adherence to national and international frequency coordination agreements.
  • Represent DOJ on NTIA's Inter-department Radio Advisory Committee (IRAC), subcommittees, and ad hoc groups to address frequency assignment policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements.
  • Experience submitting frequency coordination agreements and proposing new wireless technologies to NTIA for spectrum review and approval.
