Mainframe Software Architect

At CloudBC Labs, we are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Software Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and IMS, with 8+ years of experience in designing, programming, and architecture in a mainframe environment. Key responsibilities include partnering with client delivery lead and product owners to review requirements and associated user stories, developing source code and data migration activities for projects identified in scope, and ensuring quality of deliverables by participating in peer group conducting application design and code reviews. Additionally, the candidate will participate in analysis and resolution of critical production issues and be involved in all phases of Agile SDLC. Required skills include strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, experience in Mainframe Modernization and Migration projects, and excellent communication skills. Desired skills include knowledge of JSON and Cloud technologies, as well as experience in implementing high volume transactions processing applications.

Key Responsibilities:

* Partner with client delivery lead and product owners to review requirements and associated user stories.

* Develop source code and data migration activities for projects identified in scope.

* Ensure quality of deliverables by participating in peer group conducting application design and code reviews.

* Participate in analysis and resolution of critical production issues.

* Involved in all phases of Agile SDLC.

Requirements:

* 8+ years of experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and IMS.

* 8+ years of experience designing, programming, and architecture in a mainframe environment.

* 8+ years of experience with RMDS/EXPEDITER/File-Aid for IMS/DB2.

* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

* Experience in Mainframe Modernization and Migration projects.

* Excellent communication skills.

Desired Skills:

* Knowledge of JSON and Cloud technologies.

* Experience in implementing high volume transactions processing applications.

* Strong communications skills.

* Banking domain experience.

* Good to have experience in AWS, Azure or related cloud platform.
