Senior Civil Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in West Des Moines, Iowa. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for performing various activities related to environmental consulting, including engineering and design drafting, preparation of grading and drainage plans, and attending client and project meetings.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in solid waste assignment areas and related fields.
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
- Independently decide on engineering or scientific problems and methods, plan and coordinate work, and represents the company at meetings and conferences.
- Direction of field work performed in varied terrain and weather will be required, including surveys/data gathering, CQA for soil and geosynthetic material installations, inspections, etc.
- Office based tasks including proficient knowledge of for completing or directing others in: CAD drafting, grading and profiles and volumes using Civil 3D, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, permit applications, engineering plans and specifications, bid letting, etc.
- Business development including: meeting with clients and attending industry-related conferences/trade shows.
- Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering required.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience such as Resident Engineer or other demonstrated consulting experience, business specific to the solid waste industry, including landfill gas management, air compliance, and landfill design and permitting, etc. preferred but not required. General civil engineering experience and a desire to learn at a minimum required.
- Iowa P.E (civil) registration or ability to obtain within 6 months required.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.
- Competitive salary range: $70,000 - $100,000 per year.
