Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Specialist to join our team at Black Hills Works, Inc. As a Care Specialist, you will work closely with participants to help them manage their daily living activities, overcome challenges, and achieve their goals.

About the Role:

  • Assist participants in developing and implementing personalized support plans to promote independence and overall quality of life.
  • Provide guidance and support in various work and home activities, including shopping, cleaning, and personal care.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring timely submission and adherence to agency policies.
  • Foster trusting relationships with participants, families, and internal teams, communicating effectively through phone calls, emails, and in-person interactions.
  • Support individuals in utilizing community services, overcoming crises, and problem-solving, while evaluating their needs and progress.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety by following established health and safety procedures and adhering to regulatory guidelines.
  • Operate agency vehicles safely and efficiently to transport participants to work and community activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years of direct experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Prioritization of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with insurability and a clean driving record required.
  • Candidates must pass a qualifying criminal background check and drug test.
