Job Title: Surgical Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Nurse Specialist to join our surgical team in Everett, Washington. As a Surgical Nurse Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting surgeons during operative procedures by providing direct patient care, preparing surgical tools, and assisting with specialized techniques to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Serve as the primary assistant to the surgeon during surgical procedures, providing hands-on support.
* Assist in positioning, draping, and preparing the patient for surgery.
* Utilize specialized instruments and techniques, such as suturing, tissue retraction, and wound closure, to support the surgeon.
* Monitor the patient's condition during surgery, including vital signs, ensuring patient safety at all times.
* Maintain a sterile field and ensure the surgical team adheres to strict infection control protocols.
* Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure all equipment, tools, and supplies are available and functioning correctly.
* Perform post-operative care, including dressing wounds and assisting in patient recovery.
* Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding the surgical process and recovery expectations.

Requirements:

* Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Washington.
* Certification as a First Assistant (RNFA) is required.
* Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a surgical nurse, with first-assisting experience in various surgical specialties.
* Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, tools, and techniques.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
