We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Transplant Coordinator RN to join our team at Baylor Scott & White Health. As a key member of our Abdominal Transplant department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth transition of patients through the healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities- Assess transplant eligibility for patients through thorough interviews and coordination with healthcare providers.
- Coordinate tests for transplant candidates, identify any issues in results, and arrange necessary care.
- Manage recipient's post-transplant care, including arranging admissions, lab tests, and clinic visits.
- Teach candidates, families, and caregivers about evaluation, organ allocation, waiting, post-operative, immunosuppression effects, complications, and psychological impact of transplant.
- Utilize insurance knowledge to assist with post-transplant prescriptions and address coverage issues.
- Maintain long-term prescriptions and comply with regulatory policies, including maintaining records on the transplant waitlist through online programs.
- Associate's degree in Nursing.
- Two years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support skills required or obtain BLS certification within 30 days if not already held.
