ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Environmental Services Technician, your primary responsibility will be to maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hospital to safeguard individuals from potential health risks.
Success in this position requires a detail-oriented approach and a strong commitment to safety. Your duties will include routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting, as well as utilizing specialized equipment and techniques to ensure thorough sanitation of the facility.
You will be trained in the proper disposal methods for biohazardous materials, including bodily fluids and sharp objects. Additionally, you will learn to safely handle disinfecting agents and understand the procedures for cleaning specific areas and equipment. Responsibilities also include restocking supplies such as soap and linens in patient rooms.
A friendly demeanor and a genuine enthusiasm for assisting others will greatly enhance your effectiveness in this role. Your efforts contribute significantly to the safety and comfort of our patients, visitors, and staff. A clean environment, coupled with compassionate staff, provides essential comfort and reassurance to all.
- Conduct routine cleaning and organization of designated areas within the hospital, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
- Sanitize various hospital areas using approved methods and tools, which may differ by location. Procedures for patient rooms, emergency departments, and operating rooms will vary from those for hallways, nurses' stations, waiting areas, and restrooms. Utilize appropriate chemicals and techniques to ensure thorough disinfection.
- Replenish supplies as necessary in common areas, supply rooms, and patient spaces, including soap, paper products, and cleaning materials.
- Learn and adhere to proper protocols for the disposal of all medical waste, including biological and hazardous materials.
- Maintain a patient-centered approach, demonstrating kindness and professionalism in all interactions with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
