Human Resources Generalist Manager

The Talent, Learning & Culture Manager will oversee and ensure the efficient administration and leadership of the HR function to include recruiting, applicant tracking, training, wage/benefit administration, compliance with statutory requirements, employee relation activities, employee benefit programs, workers' compensation, leave of absence, record keeping, file maintenance, HRIS entry, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
This role provides each department and team members with guidance and support necessary to achieve their customer service and business objectives. The Talent, Learning & Culture Manager also oversees every aspect of Human Resources for the Elevation Hotel & Convening Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee every aspect of Human Resources for the Elevation Hotel & Convening Center.
- Be a resource to senior leadership, department heads, and team members by addressing concerns, questions, and/or inquiries.
- Administer employee relations activities and maintain a positive work environment.
- Implement IHP guidelines to ensure a productive employment atmosphere, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
- Responsible for updating, reviewing, and maintaining all job descriptions.
- Recruit, interview, and select top talent to join the Elevation Hotel & Convening Center team.
- Review and approve employment changes and paperwork.
- Prepare, conduct, and oversee new employee orientations and training.
- Maintain accurate records of employee files, including performance evaluations, training certifications, and status change forms.
- Manage the Quarterly Beacon Award Program from start to finish.
- Organize and oversee monthly Employee Roundtable meetings.
- Responsible for creation and distribution of the Daily Navigator.
- Responsible for creation of Employee Name Tags.
- Assist with resolution for team members and leadership concerns and complaints.
- Establish local partnerships and build relationships with business partners.
- Work with hotel leadership to engage in community affairs as a hotel.
- Administer exit interviews for continuous improvement.
- Responsible for management of all Department of Labor unemployment claims.
- Communicate any escalated concerns or incidents to Managing Partner, Talent, Learning & Culture.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining all HR bulletin boards and wall of forms.
- Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments and terminations, processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.
- Ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions. Counsel employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed benefit decisions.
- Process monthly billings from insurance providers. Review billings for accuracy, codes, and advances for payment. Resolve discrepancies with carriers, payroll, and the company. Complete reports for management as requested.
- Strive to ensure employee understanding of benefit programs by regularly generating communication and counseling employees/dependents as situations arise. Resolve employee complaints related to health and benefits plans. Refer difficult or very complex complaints to Director as needed. Act as liaison with various insurance carriers and foster effective relationships with client representatives. Act as a resource for Payroll/HR contacts to ensure their understanding and compliance with benefit and HR policies and regulations. Keep management advised of potential problem areas and recommend/implement solutions as appropriate.
- Administer Workers Compensation.
- Prepare government reports related to EEO compliance or other HR functions.
- Ensure bulletin boards are maintained, relevant, and updated weekly.
- Schedule and coordinate exit interviews.
- Process all status change forms for new/current employees.
