Position Overview
The Maintenance Engineer is tasked with ensuring that the store's physical infrastructure and equipment are maintained in optimal condition. Key responsibilities include executing preventative maintenance, as well as emergency, corrective, and routine repairs across various systems including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and HVAC.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the efficiency of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems and their associated equipment.
- Conduct emergency, corrective, and routine repairs on HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all relevant equipment and systems.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to comply with state and federal regulations.
- Hold and maintain EPA Universal Certification and stay informed on relevant legislation regarding refrigerant handling.
- Be available for work during various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and in response to emergencies as directed.
- Adhere to loss prevention programs and procedures.
- Exhibit reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
- Resourceful and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including retail hours.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience, with a strong preference for candidates with HVAC expertise and EPA certification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical equipment maintenance.
- Understanding of safety protocols and engineering standards.
- May require travel between multiple locations.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- May involve physical activities such as reaching, crouching, kneeling, and climbing.
- Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
