We are seeking a skilled Medical Device Specialist to join our team at Select Medical Corporation. As a Medical Device Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining complex medical equipment, including electrocardiogram (EKG) machines, to ensure accurate and timely patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain EKG machines to monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and detect any abnormalities.
- Continuously observe EKG monitors and respond promptly to alarms, verifying correct identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms, and artifact.
- Complete EKG interpretations, including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, waveform alterations, and rhythm interpretation.
- Ensure strip interpretations are validated by a registered nurse (RN).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Paramedic, or RN nursing student with EKG training.
- Ability to complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs and required competencies on education platform within 30 days of start date in position.
