Manufacturing Technician 3

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Technician 3 to join our team at Northrop Grumman in East Hartford, CT. As a key member of our Special Programs team, you will be responsible for performing various manufacturing operations, including setup and calibration tasks, rework, and quality testing. Your expertise in optical and fiber optic systems and components will be essential in ensuring the production of high-quality parts and components.
Key Responsibilities- Complete work order assignments in a timely and accurate manner
- Collaborate with quality control, material control, and other staff to ensure smooth manufacturing operations
- Set up and test complete units and subassemblies under operational conditions
- Use a variety of metrology and inspection tools to test and inspect optical components for accuracy and quality
- Read and understand blueprints and technical drawings
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- High School Diploma or equivalent and four years related experience
- Experience or formal training in electrical/electronic principles
- Experience with mechanical, electronics, or optical and/or fiber optic based systems and components
- Familiarity with the use of optical test equipment and microscopes
- Ability to work well as part of an integrated team
- Experience using electronic lab equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, highly technical work environment
- Associates Degree in a STEM discipline with optical and fiber optic systems and components
- Small part soldering and rework experience
- Active Top Secret Clearance
