Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Financial Clearance Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for obtaining and verifying demographic and insurance information, including authorization and referrals. You will also be responsible for scheduling patients' appointments and procedures, as well as coordinating patient flow and maintaining knowledge of insurance requirements and financial assistance options.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain and verify demographic and insurance information, including authorization and referrals
  • Schedule patients' appointments and procedures
  • Coordinate patient flow and maintain knowledge of insurance requirements and financial assistance options
  • Practice the Baptist Health philosophy of service excellence in providing professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients and families

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and organized with excellent communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology
  • Experience with computer applications and accurate typing skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual English and Spanish/Creole
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure
