Position Overview

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality imaging services to patients. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring patient comfort and safety while obtaining accurate diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for MRI procedures by providing clear instructions to facilitate cooperation and reduce anxiety.
  • Safety Protocols: Implement magnetic resonance safety measures to protect patients, self, and colleagues from potential risks.
  • Equipment Operation: Select and operate MRI systems, including surface coils and physiologic gating devices, to achieve optimal imaging results.
  • Patient Positioning: Position patients and equipment effectively to highlight the anatomical area of interest while ensuring patient comfort.
  • Patient Immobilization: Immobilize patients as necessary to ensure accurate examination results.
  • Pulsing Sequences: Choose appropriate pulsing sequences in accordance with established protocols and factors affecting data acquisition.
  • Venipuncture Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in performing venipunctures as required.
  • Contrast Administration: Administer alimentary and intravenous contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner, in compliance with state regulations and protocols.
  • Informed Consent: Verify informed consent and assist licensed practitioners during interventional procedures.
  • Aseptic Techniques: Employ aseptic techniques when necessary to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Image Evaluation: Assess images and data for technical quality, adjust display parameters, and provide a hard copy record of procedures with proper identification.

Education:
Required: High School Diploma

Licenses & Certifications:
Preferred: L-Magnetic Resonance MRT, C-BLS, L-Radiography RRT, C-ARRT - RT MR ARRT
