Job Summary

As a Catheterization Laboratory Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. You will be responsible for operating all cath lab equipment and digital processing equipment, performing duties such as scrub assistant, X-ray equipment operation, and digital processing as indicated. You will also contribute to the general operation of the department by picking up supplies, stocking supplies, and keeping the work area orderly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate all cath lab equipment and digital processing equipment.
  • Perform duties such as scrub assistant, X-ray equipment operation, and digital processing as indicated.
  • Contribute to the general operation of the department by picking up supplies, stocking supplies, and keeping the work area orderly.
  • Assure the quality and acquisition of Cardiac Cath digital images.
  • Position the cath lab table and set angles.
  • Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing the equipment, catheters, and medications, and ensuring everything is sterile.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and hemodynamic data by keeping a close eye on patients' heart rate, blood pressure, and other vital signs during procedures.
  • Operate imaging equipment using fluoroscopy machines and other imaging devices to capture clear images of the heart and blood vessels.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree preferred.
  • 1 year of Cath Lab experience preferred.
  • Louisiana State Radiologic Technology (LSRT) required in Louisiana.
  • Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) or Louisiana State Radiologic Technology (LSRT) license in the state of employment is required.
