Job Overview: Somerset Hills YMCA is on the lookout for passionate individuals who excel in youth engagement, relationship building, and creating joyful experiences to take on the role of Children's Celebration Coordinators. In this position, you will be tasked with organizing and facilitating fun-filled parties for children aged 5 to 10. The ideal candidate should be lively, skilled in interacting with children, and ready to embrace their playful side to create unforgettable celebrations.
Key Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of experience in customer service, hospitality, or similar fields.
- High school students are encouraged to apply; formal education is not a prerequisite.
- Ability to work independently, lead teams effectively, make quick decisions, collaborate well, and demonstrate dependability, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Capability to supervise children in a secure environment and ensure a positive experience for all.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification upon hire (training will be provided).
- Physical stamina and agility to remain active for extended periods.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide detailed information on available party packages and features.
- Manage the setup and cleanup of events, including decorations and food service.
- Order food as necessary and assist with serving duties.
- Prepare 'goodie bags' for attendees.
- Lead engaging activities for children during celebrations.
- Assist with guest check-in and ensure satisfaction.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, complete required documentation, and communicate with branch leadership.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of party areas.
Work Schedule:
Children's celebrations are typically held on weekends, lasting around 2 hours. Arrive 30 minutes early for setup and remain for cleanup. Assignments will be coordinated based on availability.
Each party will be staffed with two coordinators at all times.
