About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Engineer to join our team at Navy Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining system and product solutions that meet the needs of our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage projects from conception to delivery, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
  • Develop and maintain expert functional knowledge of evolving IT engineering industry technologies, concepts, and trends.
  • Provide technical direction and engineering support for projects and infrastructure, applying engineering principles to design and enhance new and existing systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project implementation and compliance with Navy Federal, industry engineering, and Information Security principles and practices.
  • Perform engineering tasks and assignments in support of business needs, including research, procurement, deployment, and configuration of new and modified systems.
  • Present clear, organized, and concise information to all audiences through various media to enable effective business decisions.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in leading, guiding, and coaching professional staff, with a strong background in IT engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering discipline, with expertise in database and presentation software, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to various audiences.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mainframe, FIS Systematics, and Cloud experience, with significant experience with FIS Systematics Architecture.
  • Significant experience writing converging programs, debugging, or testing, with expertise in Cobol, mainframe, CICS, Easytrieve, Assembler, Rexx, and Job Control language (JCL) and ESP Scheduler.
  • Experience migrating from FIS Systematics to Cloud, with expertise in ServiceNow and Architecture Systems (GN), Savings Time (ST), Customer Information System (RM), Integrated Monetary Processing & Controls System (IM), and Consumer Loan (ALS).
  • Experience in the Agile environment, with a strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
