Clinical Operations Assistant

Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated Clinical Operations Assistant to join our team at Frank C Alario M D P L. As a Clinical Operations Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our healthcare facility, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and that our healthcare professionals have the tools they need to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support healthcare professionals in delivering patient care by preparing examination rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring the availability of necessary supplies.
  • Prepare patients for their appointments, take vital signs, record medical history, and update patient information accurately.
  • Escort patients to examination rooms and explain procedures or treatments, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting and processing specimens, conducting phlebotomy, and performing EKGs.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as directed by healthcare professionals and maintain accurate records of medication inventory.
  • Assist with minor surgical procedures, including preparing instruments, assisting during procedures, and dressing wounds.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient records.
  • Collaborate with the front desk team to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate registration, and timely follow-up.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of examination rooms and common areas, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of medical supplies and equipment, restocking as needed, and identifying any deficiencies.
  • Adhere to privacy and security regulations when handling patient information, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Stay updated on medical procedures, protocols, and regulations to provide accurate information and support to patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and members of the care team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Clinical Operations Assistant in a healthcare setting.
  • Bilingual proficiency in languages other than English is preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in patient records, documentation, and clinical procedures.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a friendly and compassionate demeanor.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable with patient care tasks, including vital signs measurement, specimen collection, and medication administration.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and professionalism.

Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 per year.
