Electrical and Embedded Software Engineering Manager

At OpenArc, we are seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Embedded Software Engineering Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development of electrical and embedded software systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of electrical and embedded software systems, including the creation of technical specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical and embedded software systems with other product components.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure compliance with electrical and embedded software standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements and technology advancements to enhance the development of electrical and embedded software systems.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in electrical and embedded software development, including the creation of lower-level C or C++ code on microcontrollers.
  • Strong understanding of motor control development and motor tuning, as well as industrial communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CANBUS, USB, RS232, RS485, 1-WIRE, TCP/IP, and EtherCAT.
  • Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS and SafeRTOS.
  • Hands-on experience with development and troubleshooting of real-time applications on embedded targets.
  • Familiarity with reading and reviewing schematics, data sheets, and hardware designs.
  • Experience with low-level debugging using scope, JTAG, and software debuggers.
  • Experience with software configuration tools such as Git, subversion, and defect management tools such as Jira, and requirement management tools.
  • Experience with build tools such as Cmake and Docker.
  • Knowledge of Test-Driven Development.
  • Experience with regulated software development processes or familiarity with FDA and ISO standards like IEC 62304 and ISO13485 is a plus.
