Job Summary:

As a Pulmonary Care Outpatient Nurse Practitioner at Medicine Journal, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. Your expertise will be essential in delivering evidence-based practice and promoting a patient-centered approach to care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care for a variety of diagnoses, utilizing evidence-based practice and promoting a patient-centered approach.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care and outcomes, including daily rounds, performing detailed history and physicals, and diagnosing and treating patients within your scope of care.
  • Work closely with ancillary departments to ensure timely and appropriate workup and disposition of patients.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive discharge plans to facilitate proper transition of care.
  • Serve as a role model and resource to nursing staff, providing ongoing education and support as needed.
  • Provide patient education on an ongoing basis, promoting self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change.
  • Maintain current credentialing, privileging, CEU requirements, licensure, and certification as required.
  • Collaborate with ED physicians, specialists, consultants, admitting physicians, and primary care physicians to coordinate patient care services and optimize resource utilization.
Requirements:
  • Masters of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Demonstrated competence in nursing specialty with a minimum of 3 years experience as an RN in practicing specialty
  • Licensed as an Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of Tennessee
  • National certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC) or an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC)
  • Certificate of fitness from the state of Tennessee (as required by specialty)
  • BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward
  • ACLS certification required for those involved in direct patient care
