Aircraft Maintenance Specialist

Main Responsibilities:

The Aircraft Mechanic II at Amentum will be responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft structures and components of moderate difficulty. This includes performing daily, flight line, and hangar maintenance on assigned aircraft, as well as inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting, and fault isolation on aircraft systems.

Key Accountabilities:

• Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
• Perform inspections and corrosion control on aircraft systems.
• Furnish own hand tools to perform maintenance of aircraft.
• Lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.

Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent certificate from an accredited program.
• Valid FAA Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings.
• Competent and knowledgeable in the repair and maintenance of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft and aircraft systems.
• Reliable and good judgment.
• Ability to meet required deadlines and maintain necessary workflow.

Working Environment:

• Be physically able to perform aircraft mechanic duties.
• Ability to move freely about the interior and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
• Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.
