Role Purpose:

The Electrical Project Coordinator is tasked with overseeing the successful execution of projects, managing task assignments, fostering client relationships, and ensuring effective project oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

Resource Management (75% of the role)

  • Organizing, planning, and scheduling labor, subcontractors, materials, and equipment for projects.
  • Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive job filing system that includes:
    • Contracts
    • Specifications
    • Take-off Sheets
    • Estimates
    • Materials Pricing
    • Drawings
  • Applying for necessary bonding and insurance for projects.
  • Conducting thorough contract reviews.
  • Preparing project summaries as sold.
  • Documenting meeting minutes for projects.
  • Facilitating pre-construction job conferences.
  • Initiating and maintaining scheduled reports throughout the project lifecycle:
    • Manpower Loading/Tracking report
    • Supervisor's Daily Log Report
    • Budget Projections and cash flow schedules
  • Assisting purchasing with updates to the Material Status Report.
  • Managing monthly billing schedules.
  • Implementing safety programs.
  • Setting up job files with necessary forms.
  • Establishing procedures for additional scope of work.
  • Maintaining and monitoring subcontracts.
  • Overseeing project close-outs.

Team Coordination (15% of the role)

  • Planning and scheduling project activities among:
    • Field crews
    • Shop crews
    • Office personnel/project engineering teams
  • Ensuring projects remain on the correct administrative track through daily monitoring:
    • Breaking down projects into manageable, trackable tasks.
    • Assigning specific responsibilities to team members.
    • Establishing a clear chain of command.
    • Ensuring all team members have the necessary information, tools, materials, and support to complete their tasks.

Liaison Activities (10% of the role)

  • Maintaining effective communication and relationships with:
    • Project owners
    • Architects and engineers
    • General contractors
    • Construction managers
    • Labor forces
    • Subcontractors
    • Other trades
    • Union representatives
    • Suppliers and manufacturers
    • Federal, state, and local authorities
    • Media and the public

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug testing.
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager, preferably in the construction sector.

Physical Requirements:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not mandatory.

Working Environment:

Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
