Role Responsibilities:

  • Welcome customers and assist them in purchasing trade books, supplies, and handling returns or refunds.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding general or reference books, utilizing knowledge of authors and publications to recommend products and services.
  • Organize, shelve, and categorize inventory according to established criteria.
  • Maintain a clean and appealing sales environment by tidying merchandise and the store.
  • Process sales transactions accurately, including cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
  • Availability for temporary positions is required, with flexibility for various shifts including weekends.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent movement throughout the store to access different departments and products.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Regular lifting and occasional reaching, kneeling, or climbing.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Energetic and friendly demeanor with strong communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities to connect customers with suitable products.
  • Basic skills in mathematics, typing, and data entry.
