We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team at Mercy. As a RN-Weekends, Intensive Care Unit, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
About the RoleThis is a weekend position in our 16-bed fully monitored Intensive Care Unit, where you will work closely with a team of experienced nurses and healthcare professionals to provide critical care to patients with complex medical conditions.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including those with post-operative traumas, stroke patients, and medical overflow.
- Manage lumbar drain, external ventricular drain, antidysrhythmic/calcium channel blocking drips, low dose vasopressors, Bipap and high flow oxygen systems, insulin drips, and precedex.
- Collaborate with the Cardiovascular PCU team and have opportunities to cross train between departments.
- Participate in the Critical Care Cluster, which includes all ICUs and PCUs.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A graduate degree from an accredited registered professional nursing program.
- A current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed.
- The ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with prolonged standing and walking.
