Role Summary

The Automotive Parts and Training Supervisor is responsible for ensuring profitability on dealer investments in parts inventory. This role will be achieved through effective purchasing strategies, inventory management, staff development, security measures, pricing strategies, merchandising, and advertising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set and pursue departmental goals and objectives.
  • Recruit, train, and oversee the performance of parts department personnel.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget for the parts department.
  • Maintain an inventory that aligns with the needs of service operations, body shop, wholesale clients, and retail customers.
  • Establish pricing structures that balance profitability with customer satisfaction.
  • Optimize inventory levels for maximum turnover and minimize excess stock.
  • Ensure proper tagging of parts for full credit recovery from manufacturers.
  • Oversee stock ordering processes and special order policies.
  • Analyze monthly sales, expenses, and inventory to meet profit targets.
  • Implement customer outreach initiatives to enhance sales.
  • Design and execute promotional campaigns.
  • Utilize manufacturer co-op advertising opportunities.
  • Develop and enforce customer service guidelines to ensure satisfaction.
  • Address customer complaints promptly in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure accurate accounting of dealership purchases prior to payment.
  • Assist in the collection of overdue accounts.
  • Supervise cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Enforce safety protocols, including training on equipment operation and compliance with regulations.
  • Stay informed on relevant federal, state, and local regulations affecting parts sales.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Qualifications:
  • Authorization to work in the USA is required.
  • Commitment to performing duties safely.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong reading and comprehension skills.
  • Minimum of one year in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in an automotive parts environment.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
  • Some background in sales is preferred.
