Internal Auditor Job Description

The University of North Carolina Wilmington seeks a highly skilled Internal Auditor to join our team. As an Internal Auditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of our internal controls and risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and conduct audits across various programmatic functions, processes, and systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement audit plans, including risk assessments and audit objectives.
  • Analyze audit findings and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to implement audit recommendations and monitor progress.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
