Summary:
Weekly Hours: 40

Role Overview:
Are you ready to orchestrate the future of software releases? If you possess clarity of thought, a knack for innovation, and a focus on essential details, you could be the key player in our Maps Client team, delivering exceptional experiences in Apple Maps to millions of users daily.

Apple Maps is on the lookout for a dedicated, organized, and proactive release manager to assist in planning, tracking, communicating, and managing risks associated with our native software releases and web deployments.

The next-generation Maps experience is integrated across all Apple operating systems (iOS, CarPlay, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS) and the web, encompassing multiple applications: Maps, Find My, and Messages.

Role Responsibilities:
Release managers serve as the essential link among various project teams, ensuring a clear understanding of each team's contributions to every release and how these outcomes align.

In this capacity, you will play a vital role in the team's success, collaborating cross-functionally with other program managers, engineers, designers, and product managers to execute the product roadmap.

The ideal candidate is eager to tackle significant challenges and is meticulous about the finer details. This role demands continuous problem-solving, rapid learning, and an innovative mindset, along with patience and self-awareness while working with diverse engineering teams.

Key Duties Include:
  • Prioritizing the release timeline and monitoring release progress.
  • Analyzing and overseeing releases to provide timely and actionable insights to management and Maps leadership.
  • Coordinating scheduled and urgent deployments with Engineering, QA, and Build/Release teams.
  • Reviewing, updating, and developing release processes.

Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years of Program Management experience in Software Development, with a proven track record in coordinating complex application development cycles and schedules.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence at all organizational levels.

Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, particularly in ambiguous situations.
Self-motivated, highly organized, and successful in building relationships.
Demonstrated capability to track projects against established plans and adapt to changes.
Understanding of rapid development cycles.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to distill relevant information for various audiences.
Capability to translate technical requirements into accessible language.
Experience in identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, and facilitating conflict resolution.
Familiarity with bug management systems.
Prior experience supporting a complete development life cycle for iOS/OS/Web or other Apple ecosystems.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is just one component of our total compensation package, determined within a specified range.

This allows for growth as you advance in your role.

The base pay range for this position is between $165,500 and $293,800, influenced by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Additionally, employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Benefits Include:

Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, discounts on products and services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses related to career advancement at Apple.

This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments, as well as relocation assistance. Learn more about Apple Benefits.
