Phoenix Industrial Services is seeking a highly skilled Safety and Compliance Specialist to join their team at their Wayne, MI location.

This is a full-time temporary to permanent position with benefits including health insurance and PTO.

Availability will be on the 1st shift, 7:00am-3:30pm.

The Safety and Compliance Specialist will be responsible for reviewing and inspecting property, equipment, and practices to ensure that the company is in regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local agencies concerning all areas of safety, environmental, health, and regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Compiling and submitting accident reports required by regulatory and/or health agencies.
  • Formulating general safety policies and procedures to be followed by the company or plant personnel in compliance with local, state, federal, and State of Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Consulting with all departments on design and use of equipment, shops, fire prevention, safety program, and disciplinary actions.
  • Devising and conducting training programs to increase proficiency in safe practices.
  • Conducting various inspections for environmental concerns and to ensure that the company is meeting the requirements of the CSPA handbook in regards to handling aerosol propellents.

Requirements include 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training.

While performing the duties of this job, you will be exposed to strong chemical smells.

Pay: $00 per hour

Shift: 8 hour shift

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
