In this role, you will guide adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in acquiring independent living skills within their residences. Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct individuals in various household skills, including cooking, laundry, bill payment, budgeting, emergency preparedness, shopping, and personal hygiene.
  • Assist clients with their benefits and healthcare needs, including applying for new services. Act as a liaison between clients and various agencies such as Social Security, Housing Authority, and utility companies.
  • Help clients in arranging medical appointments and provide transportation as necessary.
  • Prepare meals and snacks collaboratively with clients.
  • Actively engage in meetings and discussions regarding client progress.
  • Maintain daily logs and documentation of services provided.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous experience with individuals with disabilities, whether professionally or personally, is preferred but not mandatory; we welcome applicants without direct experience.
  • Customer service experience is advantageous.
  • Exhibit positivity and patience.
  • A valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and at least 5 years of driving experience is required.
  • Culturally sensitive and aware of diverse backgrounds; able to work effectively with individuals from various cultures.

Compensation: This is an hourly position starting at $18.50 per hour. The pay range is $16.00-$22.89 per hour.*

Bilingual: If you are bilingual (Spanish or ASL), the starting wage is $18.80 per hour with a pay range of $16.03-$24.04.*

The pay range may vary based on multiple factors, and the maximum pay reflects the potential earnings based on experience, skills, and responsibilities.
