Job Summary

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Registered Pharmacist to support a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) facility. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of prescriptions and packages.

Responsibilities

  • Verify prescription orders for legend, OTC, Medical Surgical, and Controlled Substances to patients requiring care.
  • Assess drug orders and cross-match with medication presented at checking stations.
  • Pre-verify medications loaded into highly specialized mechanical apparatus to dispense medications into prescription bottles.
  • Complete verification and fill of controlled substance orders, including Schedules III, IV, and V.
  • Perform Quality Assurance functions and supervision of Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Follow CMOP policies regarding documentation and reports to meet VA and TJC policy.
  • Report any unusual doses, wrong drug, wrong strength, or drug mix-up, and report the information in accordance with local CMOP policies.
  • Provide full checking, labeling, and quality assurance within the guidance of the Department of Veterans Affairs regarding pharmaceutical medications.
  • Compound and dispense medications within corporate and regulatory guidelines for controlled substances.

Qualifications

  • Licensed in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Must be a graduate of an American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) accredited school or university.
  • Pharmacists who are licensed but have been subjected to disciplinary action of any type by their licensing authority within the preceding five years, must be referred to CMOP management before proceeding with the hiring action.
  • Must be licensed for controlled substances, with qualifications to practice in any states.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills with co-workers and staff.
  • Maintain basic typing skills, PC computer skills, and working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Read, understand, speak, and write English fluently under the authority of U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
  • Able to pass VetPro certification, which is a credentialing system that is required of all VHA licensed, registered, and certified health care providers.
  • Able to sit/stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours), and lift totes weighing up to 30 pounds repetitively.

Requirements

  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
