Responsibilities:- Interpret and Understand Blueprints: Interpret, understand, and visually follow blueprints and specifications to determine the sequence and method of pipe and fixture installations.
- Pipe Knowledge: Knowledgeable about the various types of pipes used in different systems, such as refrigerant piping, chilled water and hot water piping, vent piping, condensate piping, sanitary piping, storm drain piping, and waste line piping.
- Piping Applications: Familiarity with the specific applications of different types of piping: copper, iron, steel, brass, plastic, Victaulic.
- Excavation Principles: Basic understanding of excavation principles.
- Grading Tools: Proficiency in using grading tools.
- Fixture Installation: Ability to read cut sheets for the correct installation of fixtures.
- Water Flow and Pressure: Calculate water flow (CV & GPM) and pressure differentials.
- Structural Integrity: Inspect structures to identify obstructions to be avoided to prevent the weakening of the structure resulting from pipe installation.
- Pipe Support: Install support frameworks for piping (e.g., hangers).
- Pipe Location: Locate and mark the position of pipes, pipe connections, and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using a ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob.
- Pipe Cutting: Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
- Pipe Connections: Experienced in selecting the appropriate types of pipe connections.
Requirements:
- Possesses commercial construction experience.
- Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Capable of making decisions based on measurable criteria and visualizing objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
- Proficiency in working skillfully with hands.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to pounds.
- Good eyesight, with or without correction.
- Ability to climb and maintain balance on high ladders and scaffolds.
- Able to stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch as required.
