About the Role

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Budget Analyst to join the Neighborhood Contracts Unit in the Office of Neighborhood Strategies. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient management of contracts and appropriations for community-based organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit RQC1 submissions in the FMS3 system for contract actions
  • Track and analyze encumbrance data to identify issues and make recommendations for improvement
  • Coordinate with vendors and HPD Fiscal to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive tracking structure for appropriations and distributions
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Director of ONS Contracts and make recommendations for workflow efficiency
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in a related field
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with the workings of City government and financial management systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
