Geotechnical Engineering Internship

Gannett Fleming is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineering Intern to join our team. As a Geotechnical Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including dams, bridges, and buildings, and contribute to the design and analysis of foundations for these structures.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in providing geotechnical reports, designs, and analysis for structures such as dams, bridges, and buildings.
  • Aid in field reconnaissance and observation of exploration borings on challenging terrains.
  • Assist in planning subsurface exploration and laboratory testing.
  • Contribute to the design and analysis of foundations for dams, bridges, buildings, and other infrastructure.
  • Provide support for construction observation activities during project execution.
Requirements:
  • Enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related area, with a preferred focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated interest in geotechnical engineering through prior internships or applied academic coursework.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working in challenging environments including remote terrains.
