Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer PE who is self-motivated and ready to contribute to the future success of Ascent. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, excellent communication skills, and experience in leading design teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute business development to grow relationships and business in Tampa, Florida and surrounding areas.
  • Lead and manage a team in our Tampa office location, responsible for managing the Tampa branch office of Ascent Engineering Group.
  • Design holistic design of mechanical HVAC systems, including schematic conceptualization, load calculations, equipment selections, layouts, piping, and writing specifications.
  • Lead design teams on projects, ensuring timely completion and meeting project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria.
  • Analyze and interpret design verification data, and assist with coordinating design verification activities.
Requirements
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • P.E. license is required.
  • Strong client skills, management experience, and business development experience are required.
  • 10+ years of working experience with a consulting engineering or A/E firm, and experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • Experience in completing MEP construction design documents in Autodesk Revit.
