Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate X-ray Equipment: Safely and effectively operate X-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body parts as ordered by physicians.
  • Position and Instruct Patients: Position and instruct patients prior to examination, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Adjust Equipment and Determine Exposure: Adjust X-ray equipment and determine proper voltage, current, and exposure time for each radiograph.
Requirements:
  • Education and Work Experience: Associate's Degree in Radiological Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Licenses and Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography (ARRT-R) certification, Radiologic Tech (RT) licensure in the state of practice, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Essential Functions:
  • Perform Screening Procedures: Perform screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation, explaining procedures to patients and answering their questions.
  • Prepare Equipment and Examination Rooms: Prepare equipment for use as needed and prepare examination rooms for patient exams.
  • Monitor Patients and Ensure Safety: Monitor patients and ensure their safety during exams, positioning them correctly for imaging.
  • Produce Diagnostic Images: Produce high-quality diagnostic images, documenting exam information and reporting important findings to physicians.
  • Verify Exams on PACS: Verify exams on Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and administer targeted doses of radiation as needed.
