Position Overview

Role Responsibilities

Key Duties
  • Conducts comprehensive physical assessments and examinations.
  • Evaluates and advises patients while gathering medical histories.
  • Monitors patient compliance with treatment protocols.
  • Facilitates screening for clinical research studies.
  • Collects and documents data in accordance with research protocols.
  • Creates and executes adherence plans aligned with protocols.
  • Submits billing for professional services as permitted by collaborative agreements.
  • Interprets diagnostic test results for abnormalities.
  • Prescribes therapies or medications with physician oversight.
  • Orders or administers diagnostic tests, including x-rays and laboratory tests.
  • Performs therapeutic interventions such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care.
  • Assists physicians during surgical procedures or complex medical interventions.
  • Promotes professional development through educational programs and workshops.
  • Adheres to departmental policies, quality assurance standards, and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of physician assistant theory and practice with 1-3 years of experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with the principles of Physician Assistant practice.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited PA program.
  • Current PA licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois or ability to obtain within three months of hire.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on specialty area.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications without a skills assessment component are insufficient).
