Job Summary:The Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant (PA) is an advanced practice provider who delivers service through core competencies of direct care, consultation, expert guidance, leadership, ethical decision making, and collaboration. The care provided to patients may include advanced assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, treatment/care planning, implementation, evaluation, and patient education.
The NP/PA works under the supervision and direction of a physician and represents Esse Health by providing healthcare information to patients and the community through individual and group encounters.
Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality patient care through advanced assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide expert guidance and consultation
- Develop and implement patient education programs to promote healthy behaviors
- Participate in health care research and quality improvement initiatives
- Interact professionally with patients, families, and other healthcare providers
The NP/PA shall possess knowledge of adult health issues, including normal versus abnormal physical findings and diagnostic test findings. The NP/PA shall also possess the skills of physical exam and developmental screening, as well as the ability to provide individual and group health education.
The NP/PA shall have a Master's Degree of Science in Nursing, a Missouri Registered Professional Nursing license, and board certification or eligibility for certification by the National Certification Board of Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, or American Nurses Association. Alternatively, the NP/PA shall have formal training as indicated by completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and current license as a PA in Missouri.
