  • Identify patients with disabilities for appropriate accommodations.
  • Safeguard patients' personal belongings securely.
  • Assist and follow provider orders during medical exams and treatments.
  • Interview patients to gather medical information, preparing them for medical exams.
  • Observe, document, and report clinical symptoms and behaviors, including medical history, test results, and vitals.
  • Maintain medical information confidentiality.
  • Implement universal precautions for infection control.
  • Recognize and report potential security breaches or behaviors indicating incidents.
  • Schedule patients, manage medical clinic and office supplies, and assist staff with utensil counting.
Requirements
  • Active Medical Assistant Certificate from a California Department of Consumer Affairs-approved agency for MA practice.
  • At least 12 consecutive months of performing similar services within the last 3 years.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (with AED).
  • Must be proficient in the English Language (Speaking/Writing).
  • Must be certified by one of the following boards: AAMA / AMT /CCBMA and AMCA.
Work Environment

This role will be based in Crescent City, California, and will involve working in a correctional facility setting.

We offer a competitive rate of $960/40-hours and a 17-week duration.
