Quality Assurance Inspector

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Inspector to join our team at Shaw Group. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that work is performed as required by the Project Quality Plan, codes, specifications, drawings, procedures, and contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform VT Inspections and ensure that all inspections/surveillances are performed as directed by Quality Supervision.
  • Understand and Inspect According to Contract Requirements, including subcontractor contract requirements.
  • Follow HSE requirements applicable to work scope and assist with implementation of project-specific quality procedures.
  • Perform and document inspections as required, including weld/heat map, weld log, NDE coordination, and witness of pressure testing.
  • Oversee subcontractor inspections and review of subcontractor documentation, generating NCRs when required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of Quality Inspection experience.
  • Adequate experience in documenting project details as required.
  • Experience in Weld/Heat Map traceability, knowledge of pipe fabrication drawings, and ability to distinguish welds such as Girth, Branch, etc.
  • Document NDE for RT, PT, etc., and basic math skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to reach, stand, walk, climb, grasp, use hands or fingers, grip, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and to perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and operate computer for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
