Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Biological Media Specialist to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our laboratory operations team, you will be responsible for preparing biological media and cultivating microorganisms, including viruses, bacteria, and fungi.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare biological media and cultivate microorganisms in a controlled environment
  • Apply job skills and applicable policies and procedures to complete routine and non-routine tasks
  • Provide input into reports and letters for project managers and interact with clients as needed
  • Train and guide less experienced staff on specific tasks and provide input to performance reviews
  • Perform non-routine analysis to verify project work accuracy and assist in technical planning

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with aseptic technique and eukaryotic cell culture
  • Technical knowledge to perform moderately complex assignments and non-routine data analysis
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work under general supervision
