Position Title: Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Location: Ridgefield, CT

Compensation: Competitive, based on experience

Overview: We are in search of a dedicated and proficient Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in delivering essential speech and language services. The SLPA will play a vital role in facilitating the communication development of students across various educational levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist SLPs in executing direct therapy services according to established therapy plans.
  • Implement therapeutic activities and interventions under the guidance of the supervising SLP.
  • Conduct screenings and collect data on student performance and progress.
  • Prepare and organize necessary therapy materials and resources.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions and student advancements.
  • Support the development and execution of individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy objectives.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other school personnel to enhance students' communication abilities.
  • Engage in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding student progress and program effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related discipline.
  • Valid Connecticut State Licensure or registration as an SLPA.
  • Certification as an SLPA is preferred.
  • Experience working with children in educational or clinical environments is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and effectively implement therapy plans.
